Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EVigo Cabs ("EVigo", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use EVigo Cabs (rider) and EVigo Driver (driver partner). By using the apps you agree to this policy. Last updated: October 8, 2026.

Who we are

EVigo Cabs is an all-electric cab service. We provide a rider app (EVigo Cabs) for booking rides and a driver partner app (EVigo Driver) for drivers who fulfil those rides. This policy covers both apps.

Information we collect

Account information: your name, mobile number and (optionally) email address, which you provide during sign-up and verify by one-time password (OTP).

Location information: when you use the rider app, we use your device location to show nearby vehicles, set your pickup, estimate fares and track the trip. In the driver app, location is used to receive nearby trip requests and to navigate. Location is collected only while the app is in use; we do not collect background location.

Driver verification (KYC): if you are a driver, we collect the documents you upload for verification — driving licence and government ID (e.g. Aadhaar) details and photographs, and a profile photo. These are used solely to verify your eligibility to drive.

Trip and usage information: pickup and drop locations, trip status and timing, fares, ratings and the content of in-app support messages.

Device and log information: device model, operating system, app version, and diagnostic logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.

How we use your information

We use your information to create and secure your account; to match riders with drivers and operate trips; to show maps, estimate and settle fares, and send receipts; to verify drivers; to provide customer support; to send service messages such as OTPs and trip updates; and to maintain, protect and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

Between riders and drivers: to complete a trip, a rider's first name and contact and the pickup/drop are shared with the assigned driver, and the driver's name, vehicle and contact are shared with the rider — only for the duration of that trip.

Service providers: we share limited data with providers who help us run the service, including map/geolocation providers, our OTP/WhatsApp messaging provider (BhashSMS) to deliver sign-in codes, and our cloud hosting provider. They may process data only on our instructions.

Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or EVigo.

Payments

Rides are paid in cash on completion unless stated otherwise in the app. We do not collect or store card or bank account numbers for ride payments.

Data security

All traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including restricted access to driver KYC documents.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax and safety obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within the retention period required by applicable law.

Your rights and choices

You can view and edit your profile in the app, and you can request deletion of your account and personal data from within the app or by contacting us. You can control location access at any time through your device settings, though some features will not work without it.

Children

The apps are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date; continued use of the apps means you accept the current version.
